Central Park Pump Track
Client: Wirral Council
Value: £94k
Partners: Back on Track
Open Date: March 2022
In March 2022 Alliance Leisure was pleased to complete the £94k development of our very first pump track!
The project was approved as part of the Liscard Town Centre Fund programme, which is funded by a grant agreement with the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority. An Action Plan identified the need to develop a dedicated pump track primarily to benefit young people in the area.
Following public consultation an asphalt pump track in Central Park, Wallasey, was agreed as the location. The Principle Contractor, Back on Track, was mobilised and construction of the Pump Track was completed in just 5-weeks.
We are delighted with the delivery of the Pump Track and the finished result. Thanks to the team for developing working with us since an early stage, coming up with design options that took on board key consultation feedback from residents, and for accommodating our requirements along the way and building the project to a high quality ensuring successful completion on time and on budget. Local young people are already making use of the new facility, with lots of excitement and enthusiasm on social media from cycling and skater groups, our local councillors, and the wider local community. We are confident that the facility will encourage new opportunities for play, recreation and sporting activities with all of the positive physical and mental health benefits that brings.

The track looks fantastic and will provide outdoor activity space to encourage physical activity and benefit young people in the local community.
