Why Start from Scratch?
A new build leisure centre may be necessary for a number of reasons. In the UK, it is estimated there are more than 2,720 ageing leisure centres, with many dating back to the 1970s. Whilst refurbishment is oftentimes a great way to repurpose existing facilities, there are many cases in which the centre is past its economic lifespan, the existing space isn’t suitable for the community’s requirements, or several aged leisure centres wish to combine to create a new, all-purpose facility.
