Aylestone Leisure Centre opened the doors on its new fitness facilities in October 2020 as part of a wider £2.3m package of works across Leicester City Council’s leisure portfolio.
Alliance Leisure was engaged by the council to create a flexible workout space and the project has been delivered via the UK Leisure Framework, owned by Denbighshire Council and managed by Denbighshire Leisure.
The separate free weight gym and the main gym space has been combined and opened up to create a much more welcoming and user friendly, open plan training space.
The second phase of the project has now been completed, and saw the redevelopment of the reception area and access control, creation of a new studio from part of the sports hall, and redecoration and flooring throughout communal areas on the ground floor.
The second phase also saw the redevelopment of staff offices on the first floor, including kitchen and meeting room facilities.
