Innovation
Innovation is at the core of what we do. Taking under-utilised space and creating modern, fit-for-purpose leisure facilities has been our mantra for the past 25 years. What has changed over that time is the type of innovations we have brought to the leisure sector.
In 2007 we developed the first spa to be located within a public sector facility. Inside Spa at Pendle Leisure Trust was a unique proposition at the time which we have followed up with further spa developments at various facilities, includingRamsgate Leisure Centre and Deeside Leisure Centre.
The Gravity Tower install at Salt Ayre Leisure Centre in 2017 was Europe’s first ever Flight Tower.
In 2018 we completed an ambitious project at Monmouth Leisure Centre to locate a 25m swimming pool within the old sports hall space. A construction fete dubbed the ‘ship in a bottle’ project.
Working with partners Alliance Leisure is also proud to have invested in other projects not seen as traditional with a leisure setting. TAGactive facilities have been constructed in many Alliance developments which combine an interactive gamification to the activity. Many Innerva studios have also been installed targeting an ageing population who wouldn’t normally visit a typical gym or class environment.
UK Leisure Framework
The traditional design and build route with a tireless procurement process is a thing of the past. Alliance Leisure can be appointed directly for the scoping, design, refurbishment, construction and development of leisure centres, theatres, play facilities, recreation facilities and sports facilities across the UK public sector, via the UK Leisure Framework.
The UK Leisure Framework allows Alliance Leisure to enter into direct relationships with organisations to scope, develop and deliver both physical leisure developments and cultural and marketing related services. Most importantly, it does not commit the client into undertaking a development but allows potential projects to be explored with these only coming to fruition should the affordability prove positive.
The Framework is available to all UK public sector organisations listed here. This also includes any Leisure Trusts and/or Mutual Arm’s length limited companies that are associated with any UK public sector Authorities, or any other Private Limited Companies that are operating leisure facilities on behalf of a UK Public Sector client organisation listed.

A typical Design & Build procurement process will take between 6-15 months and is often aspiration and design led as opposed to designed to an independent business affordability.
Alliance Leisure can be appointed to scope and business plan the project, via the UK Leisure Framework, ensuring affordability and sustainability are at the forefront of the development. Alliance Leisure can typically be on site within six months of appointment.
