This project saw the restoration, refurbishment, and extension of the activity centre, which has provided outdoor educational residentials for schools and groups since the 1980s.
Situated on the shores of Coniston Water in the Lake District, the project modernised facilities at the centre and addressed the backlog of essential repairs and maintenance issues. The scheme also introduced a new storage building, sensitively designed to complement the surroundings.
The centre hosts weekly visits from schools and group stays over the weekends, so these works are instrumental in increasing the breadth of activities available at the centre. Not only will this improve activity levels of attendees, but also drive extra revenue for Wigan Council.
