New Leisure Centre for Mablethorpe on Track for Summer Launch

Station Sports Centre in Mablethorpe has closed to make way for the new Station Leisure & Learning Centre, which is being delivered by Alliance Leisure on behalf of East Lindsey District Council.

The leisure and learning scheme is due to open this summer, providing a wealth of health and wellbeing opportunities for the area. These include an 80 station gym, group exercise studio, group cycle studio, a TAGactive adventure zone, toddler play as well as a new outdoor play area.

Designed by lead architects Pozzoni, the £13.9m development also includes a four lane, 25 swimming pool – the first public pool for Mablethorpe, in addition to co-working and learning spaces.

East Lindsey District Council secured £7.4m in Government Levelling Up funding through the Towns Fund, supported by the Connected Coast Town Deal Board, to help pay for the new centre. The development, alongside other Town Deal projects being delivered in Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea, represent a huge investment for the area and are designed to support a healthy and diverse economy.

The residents of Mablethorpe have been crying out for a public pool for years and the existing centre had reached the end of its useful life. We were tasked with creating a centre that met both the current and future needs of the area. Following research with our partners, Max Associates, we have provided a facility mix that brings exciting new opportunities for leisure and learning to Mablethorpe.
