Innerva
Alliance have been partners with Innerva (previously Shapemaster) for the past two decades. We have worked together to install their power-assisted equipment in tens of facilities across the UK, from Folkestone to Falkirk. Their solution is a unique proposition that is often misunderstood and dismissed too quickly. Whilst ‘toning machines’ have been around since the 1970s the concept and technology has moved on and the Innerva equipment is scientifically supported and tested. Active Ageing
Heath and fitness operators are successfully engaging around 15% of the population into physical activity through memberships at their facilities. This not only demonstrates that operators are moving in the right with their facility offerings, but also that there is room for expansion into further demographic groups, namely older members of the population.
Due to a recent shift in focus to physical and mental wellbeing, older and less active people are being driven to seek community support in the generation of healthy habits and lifestyles. With the right mix of specialist products and team approach, facilities specifically aimed at active ageing can be introduced into centres, opening up opportunities for more members of every community to get active.
What is Power Assisted Exercise (PAE)?
Innerva’s Power Assisted Exercise (PAE) technology provides a ‘helping hand’ in a low impact, full body workout circuit for exercisers who demand to work smart and effectively. This technology provides an effective exercise and rehabilitation solution for older adults, as well as those living with long term health conditions, by providing a safe and comfortable exercise environment.
The machines are suitable for use by all age groups and abilities. The machines provide an effective exercise solution by removing the need for the user to provide the inertia to move the machine, without the use of weight stacks. Each machine exercises a number of muscle groups, and are all designed to be seated and recumbent, providing a low impact and low stress workout.
